Righteousness - Session 18

by Thamo Naidoo | Righteousness

We do not promote or encourage hate speech, prejudice, or discrimination against any individual or grouping of people, yet we choose to believe the dictates of the Bible that, God created them male and female.

This session continues on the subject of family. Both male and female are created in the image and likeness of God. When we conform to this eternal design we are reckoned righteous.

Submission to the Will of God

Submission affords one the right to rule. Before Jesus could announce the Kingdom, He submitted to the baptism of John the Baptist. By doing so, He submitted to God’s will so that, ‘all righteousness may be fulfilled.’ Our pursuit of righteousness requires us to submit to the will of God as set out in the Word.

Male and Female – Created Equal But Functionally Different

God created male and female,  which is a gender distinctive. It is significant to note that this distinctive is biological and not psychological. In this modern, liberal world one can be born male but elect to become female, rendering gender a relative term.  We do not promote or encourage hate speech, prejudice, or discrimination against any individual or grouping of people, yet we choose to believe the dictates of the Bible that, God created them male and female.  While there is coequality, there is diversity of function and rank. For example in the family the husband is the head of the wife. Such order is a pattern of righteousness.

Image and Likeness of God is Preserved Through Righteous Families

Our ultimate objective must be to preserve the image of God in creation. The family, as the microcosm of community, is a divine, eternal design to preserve and multiply the image of God in the earth.  If we do not pursue God’s image and righteousness, our spirit will be separated from the Spirit of God. Separation will consequently lead us into darkness and death.

The Mandate of the Church is to Restore Families

The Scriptures are given to us for the purpose of instruction. We must use the biblical templates in how we raise our families and ourselves. Righteousness must be brought back into our homes.  We must build the family that God desires on the earth.
