Righteousness - Session 17
God created man (male and female) in His image and likeness (Genesis 1: 26ff) with the idea that they will function as families in their dominion mandate over creation. In the New Covenant we are informed that we have been predestined to be conformed to the image of the Son.
The Natural Family
In this, and in subsequent sessions, Thamo explains the architectural divine design for humankind. They were designed to function as family units. The purposes of God are fulfilled through families and not simply focussed on individuals. This is the pattern threaded through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The natural family is made up of individuals predominantly a father, mother, sons and daughters. There is a governmental order to the home. Righteousness is restored when natural families return to the heaven design
Spiritual Families/Congregations
Similarly, the Church was designed to be a Family on macro and micro levels of its existence. As a complete unit the Church is the Household (Family) of God. At congregational levels (micro) the church should function as a family unit. The purpose of the spiritual family is to advance the purposes of God in the earth.

Sons of God
God created man (male and female) in His image and likeness (Genesis 1: 26ff) with the idea that they will function as families in their dominion mandate over creation. In the New Covenant we are informed that we have been predestined to be conformed to the image of the Son. As sons of God we are placed in families through which we execute our divine mandate in the earth. Understanding who we are in Christ and our placement in families is key to our understanding of divine sonship.
Individualism Opposes Family
Even though the environment that God created for Adam was perfect, God still saw the need to create a helper (Eve) for him. This was because Adam was not created to be an isolated individual. Individualism kills the idea of family and produces a prodigal son who seeks independence instead of family.
Rebuilding our Homes
Before God created man, He first created the environment that man would inhabit. This was the context of man’s existence and explains why humans are such territorial and communal beings. The environment that we find ourselves in is crucial to our development of the family. In Psalm 127:1 we read, “unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it”. God did not only create the family but built the physical environment for the Adam and Eve to live in. Our physical homes are very important in restoring the state of righteousness to our families. Our homes should become our Eden.
